Four New Titles Get Anime Green Light
A virtual shopping list of titles have gotten the green light for anime adaptations over the last twenty four hours so you’ll have to forgive me for putting them all in one super post rather than breaking them all down. First it was announced that a new multimedia franchise is being launched by a toymaker in Japan, Yamato, with the help of Studio Anima. The new project is titled ‘Enka Odo Dai Shogun’ and will cover all the bases that fans crave including an anime series, figures, posters, drama CDs and probably just about everything else that you can think of along the way. Unfortunately not mentioned in any of the news releases that have found their way onto the internets so far is any information regarding a story, just that the first figure prototype (named Kiriko Abe) will be revealed at the upcoming Tokyo International Anime Fair. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
Next up is the 2008 eroge ‘Princess Lover!’ from Ricotta. The game follows a high school boy named Teppei Arima who after losing his parents to a tragic auto accident is taken in by his extremely rich and influential grandfather. Being pushed into the role as new successor, Teppei enrolls in an exclusive high school that is filled with a bevy of beauties.
Names already attached to this project include Hiromitsu Kanazawa as director with the writing being overseen by Makoto Nakamura (Kanon) while GoHands will be producing the animation. No other information regarding a release date has been announced but the official website promises more information tomorrow.
Third on the list of new adaptations is another title from the creator of Maburaho and Umi Monogatari (Maburaho has already been made into an anime, Umi Monogatari is on the way), Toshihiko Tsukiji. Next up for Tsukiji will be his light novel series ‘Kampfer’ which follows a high school boy who wakes up one morning to discover that not only has he suddenly turned into a girl but he has also been chosen as a ‘kampfer’ forcing him to fight against other girls to the death. The announcement came via a wraparound jacket on the novel reprints pictured below.

The final announcement I have (for now) comes via ANN and is for the yuri manga series ‘Sasameki Koto’. In this series, a high school girl has a crush on one of her female classmates and believe that she might feel the same way but has no way of knowing for sure. No additional information was made available regarding a release date or who would be producing the series.
Whew!
